If they won just one game all season, it was going to be a welcome bonus.
Lucky for the newly formed Pyramid Power women's side, the win came in their debut game last Friday.
And the Power, who have built a women's team in the Club's 10th season on the back of solid youth numbers, will be back at the scene of the crime tonight to face a much-improved Manunda.
Manunda were big first-round winners before going down in a good tussle with pacesetters Norths last weekend.
Coach Brett Kennerley, who is also club president and under-15 boys coach, said the establishment of a women's team was another tick for the Gordonvale Association.
"Not initially (did we think women's footy would feature so dominately), but it's really come on in the last two years with the AFL pushing it," he said. "The girls were so excited to get a win; our goal was just to field a solid side each week and have fun, so a win first up wa a handy bonus."
