Norths star Selina Goodman says if Manunda are ever going to beat them in a grand final it will be today.
The AFL Cairns Women's best and fairest is wary of a much-improved Hawks, who have beaten them once this season and pushed them to the limit in all other games.
In their semi-final a fortnight ago, two players were taken away in an ambulance while Goodman herself was injuried against them earlier this season. So the ruckman-turned-rover is not expecting an easy path to another flag in tomorrow mornings final.
"We'll have to fight until the very end to get over the line," Goodman said.
"Every time we've played it's been neck and neck in tough encounters and if they do win, this will be the year."
Enjoying the fact they have been pushed by the Tyson Lane-coached Hawks, Goodman says the 2014 premiership would be one of the sweetest.
"Most years wins come easily, bt this year we've had to fight really hard for it."
They will hope to shut down leading goal kicker kareen White, while Tigers' player-caoch Jo Butland will assume ruck duties with Goodman still nursing grade one knee tear.
For the first time they will play a final in September.
