It is a fortunate thing for criminals that South Cairns AFL coach Steve Daniel is not a magistrate because "mercy" does not appear to be in his vocabulary.
While mostly satisfied with the Cuttersâ 24.18 (182) to 11.13 (79) demolition of North Cairns at Fretwell Park on Saturday, Daniel thought his team was guilty of slacking off in the third term.
The Cutters led by 14 goals at the main break but Daniel was less than impressed with what his players produced when they returned to the field.
"We took the foot off the pedal and became a bit lackadaisical, which was disappointing because we talked about that at halftime," he said. "We were really good in the second quarter and it was disappointing not to follow it up."
