North Cairns can enjoy the Queen's Birthday long weekend break that little bit more with the knowledge they are finally in the AFL Cairns top four.
Their 13.13 (91) to 7.6 (48) win over the Cairns City Cobras at Watsons Oval on Saturday was the result that tipped the Tigers into the happy half of the competition for the first time in nine rounds.
Tigers coach Brett Oakley said the club believed at the start of the season that they could be a finals contender.
"That was always our main aim," he said.
"There’s still a long way to go in the year and we have to keep beating other sides that also want to be in the top four. But we’re happy with where we are at."
By midway through the second term of Saturday’s game a Tigers’ win never looked in doubt.
