A 10-goal haul from veteran forward Daryl Taylor inspired Port Doulgas to only their second win of the AFL Cairns season over the Cairns City Cobras at Holloways Beach on Saturday.
Taylor had planned to retire after the Crocs exited last year's finals series but his presence in the forward line in 2009 has been crucial to a club rebuliding after a mass exodus of players.
Cobras could do little to limit his influence with Taylor booting nearly half the Croc's score in theor 19.9 (123) to 8.6 (54) victory.
But for Crocs fans just as pleasing as Taylor's goal kicking heroics, was the appearance of Lucas Teasdale for the first time this season.
The giant ruckman dominated stoppages and kept his teammates supplied with first use of the football.
As with their first win of 2009 against North Cairns in round 10, the Crocs were brillant in the opening exchanges and had forged a seven-goal lead by halftime.
