Redlynch proved it could be a footballing force of the future by winning the AFL Cairns Juniors under-12 grand final on Sunday.
It was Redlynch's first grand final in any age group since 2005 and the first time the team had won the under-12 title.
Making the 5.11(41) to 1.1(7) victory over North Cairns all the more special was the fact the club fielded two teams in the under-12 competition season.
In the under-14 decider South Cairns thrashed Cairns Hawks 11.19(85) to 3.3(21).
Cutters ace Mitchell Koch won the John Hollander Medal as the man of the match while Matthew Daniel booted four goals.
In the under-16 competition Cairns Hawks beat Pyramid Power 17.13(115) to 6.5(41).
Sam Michael won the Bob Shaw Medal as the man of the match.
