With less than 100 entrants there will be plenty of time to complete the 500m (Fri) and 1,000m & 2,000m (Thurs) per the schedule. Please send an email to manager@rowingsa.asn.au if you have a specific time that you need to do all your events because of other conflicts.
You can just turn up when it suits you on the Thurs / Fri and enjoy that atmosphere while you prepare - Rowing races will be held concurrently on the Friday and also Go Rowing (no extra charge) is available for anyone that would like to have a go on the water!
Note that Medal Presentations will be done at the end of each day.
Dates: Thursday Oct 11th and Friday Oct 12th
Venue: SA Rowing Clubrooms at 100 Military Rd, West Lakes Shore
Sport Fee: $25.00 per person 1, 2 or 3 events; (only $15.00 if also entered in the Rowing event)
Competition Format: 2 days of competition for various distances (500m, 1000m and 2000m), weight categories (open and lightweight) and age groups with flexibility of start times so this is an ideal sport to fit in with your other Masters Games sports!
Concept ergometer machines will be linked to provide on-screen racing - you see where you are compared to the others at all times throughout the race and it is exciting for the spectators!
Medals will be presented at the end of each day
Events - individuals enter only one of the following categories
qOpen Male qOpen Female qLightweight* Male (<75kg) qLightweight* Female (<61.5kg)
and then enter 1, 2 or 3 of the distances Thursday q1000m q2000m Friday q500m
*Lightweights must weigh-in between 2 and 1 hour before their first event of the day
Age Groups: Individuals compete in the age group as shown below (minimum age 27 years)
qA 27-35 qB 36-42 qC 43-49 qD 50-54 qE 55-59 qF 60-64 qG 65-69 qH 70-74 qI 75-79 qJ 80+
Winners of each age group receive Gold, Silver and Bronze medals as well Overall Winner of each category (based on age handicap).
Conduct of Regatta: The regatta will be conducted under the guidelines of the SA Rowing Association.
Training: Concept Ergometer machines may be available for participants training in the days prior to the event. Please contact the SA Rowing Association direct.
