SMA-SA are running a number of Level 1 and Level 2 Sports Trainer Courses in the coming months. These courses are a great opportunity to get your trainers accredited before the winter season starts and to provide education to all associated members of your club. Having accredited Sports Trainers at your club allows you to provide the best practice welfare coverage for your players/members.
The level 1 course now involves only one contact day, with the theory to be completed online. The online theory must be completed prior to the face to face day, hence the importance of registering your trainers prior to the closing date of the chosen course to give sufficient time for participants to complete this component.
Details for the upcoming Level 1 Metro course including registration closing dates are as follows:
- Sunday 29th of March, SMA-SA (closing date for registration 10th of March 2015)
This course is already half full – and with winter season sports not too far off we expect that it won’t be long until this course is sold out.

For those considering advancing to your Level 2 Sports Trainers Accreditation SMA-SA will be running this course on Sunday 17th of May and Sunday 14th of June at SMA-SA. Our January course sold out in October last year and this course is also proving to be very popular.

With increasing interest in these courses we want every Trainer and Club Member to have access to the courses we provide. With that said we encourage you to be proactive and secure your spot in a chosen course.
For those looking for some shorter courses prior to the season SMA-SA is running a number of education sessions. These include:
- Spinal Management, Monday 2nd of March, 6:30 – 9:30pm (SMA – SA)
- Advanced Taping, Wednesday 25th March, 6:30pm – 9:30pm (SMA-SA)

These sessions can be counted towards your continuing education for reaccreditation, and are a great opportunity to refresh or build upon current skills and knowledge.
Please feel free to share this information with club trainers and members of other sporting codes within the Metro region who may be interested in attending any of the noted courses.
On behalf of SMA-SA, I do want to thank you for your hard work and continued support. Without your promotion of our courses we would not be getting these great numbers coming along.
If you have any questions about these or other courses run by SMA-SA please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
Regards,
Lisa
