Rovers’ unbeaten start to its return to the top flight of men’s basketball in Geelong has come to an end.

The two-game winning streak brought to a halt by Try Boys on Tuesday night, 57-45.

Chris Daniele top scored for Try Boys with 19, while Andrew Olechnowicz finished with 19 for Rovers.

Sharks and Try Boys Bears couldn’t be split, playing out a 50-all draw.

Veteran Glenn Sharp finished with 18 points for the Bears, while Sharks teenager Ollie Holland had 10 in an even team performance.

Marcus Larcombe top scored with 16 points for Christian College as they defeated Pivot City in a close one 65-61.

Stefan Osborne had 27 for the Pivotonians.

Big V star Chris Brown finished with 21 points in YMCA’s 74-40 hammering of Tigers, while Geelong teammate Romas Liebich had 17 in Vytis’ 64-33 thrashing of Dolphins.

In the women’s competition, YMCA held Pivot City scoreless in the last quarter to hold on for a 40-39 win.

Former Lady Cat Candice Rogers proved the difference with 17 points, while Maddy Boyd and Sam Croxford both had 12 for Pivot.

Veteran Jenny Male top scored with 13 points as Rovers defeated young club mates Rovers Hawks 59-36.

Anisa Sijersic starred with 24 points in Try Boys 41-32 win over Sharks.
