Leon O'Neill always strong on the Boards

Pivot City fought back from a nine point three-quarter time deficit to force a 64-all draw with Sharks in Basketball Geelong Championship action on Tuesday night, despite star Jason Reardon being disqualified during the third quarter.

Sharks set up the lead thanks to a 12 points in the championship quarter from Big V star Dane Bow, however the Pivotonians were able to outscore them 20-11 in the final period to tie the game.

Reardon finished with 20 fro his three-qaurtersfor Pivot, while Bow had a game-high 24 for Sharks.

Christian College recorded its first win of the season with a 76-51 result against Try Boys.

After trailing by a point at quarter-time, the Eagles regained the lead early in the second and were not headed again.

Supercat Nick Owusu was the star for victors with 30, with Keith Harrison chipping in with 20.

Big man James Swallow had 12 for Try Boys.

A 16 point haul from David Reardon helped Lara to a 56-36 win over Tigers.

Ben Scannell and Simon Evans had 11 apiece for Tigers, who scored just eight points in the first half.

Romas Liebich starred with 24 for Vytis in its upset 62-60 win over YMCA.

He was supported by Supercats’ rookie Michael Rebula who had 16 for the Knights, while Ben Suchanek and Kris Van Parreren both had 17 for the Y.

Veteran guard Paul Hutchison’s 26 points led Try Boys Bears in its 81-48 thumping of Dolphins, who were best served by Mikey Lesic’s 20 points.

In the women’s competition, Try Boys pulled away from Pivot City in the last quarter to record a 60-47 victory.

Former Big V star Anisa Sijersic starred with 26, while veteran shooter Lauren Green had 13 for the winners.

For the losers, Youth League swingman Ebony Tannouri finished with 20.

Former US College star Kylie Morrissy proved the difference between Rovers and Sharks, scoring 20 points in a 60-36 win.

Kelly Snell had 10 for Sharks.

YMCA showed no mercy to clubmates YMCA Cougars with an 89-43 win.

Lady Cats’ trio Vicki King (30 points), Ash Hatton (26) and Jae Conn (19) provided Y with an unstoppable triple threat.

Jen Cleary and Kim Martin tried hard for Cougars with 12 points apiece.
