Try Boys unbeaten start to the Basketball Geelong Championship Women’s season continued on Tuesday night with an entertaining two point win over an undermanned YMCA 64-62.

 

 

The Bears trailed the undermanned Y by two points at the last break, but managed to sneak home thanks to a nine point final quarter from Lady Cat Anna Teague.

 

 

Teague finished with 16 points for the match, to complement Anisa Sijersic’s 21.

 

 

Jae Conn (28 points) and Vicki King (24) did all they could to get Y over the line.

 

 

YMCA Cougars had the better of Sharks 59-43, with four players scoring in double figures.

 

 

Kim Martin top scored for the Cougars with 17, while Jen Cleary had 14.

 

 

Mel Schwarz was best for Sharks with 21, while Sharon Ford finished with 10.

 

 

In form shooter Ebony Tannouri proved the difference between Pivot City and Rovers Hawks, scoring 29 points in an 83-51 win.

 

 

Sarah Welfare provided strong support with 17 for Pivotonians.

 

 

Tarryn McPherson led Hawks with 14, while talented youngster Zoe Donne had 12.

 

 

Christian College cracked the magical three figures in a 102-33 smashing of Tigers.

 

 

Supercats’ trio Nick Owusu (27 points), Keith Harrison (27) and Seb Loader (24) combined for 78 of the Eagles’ points.

 

 

Simon Evans was Tigers’ best with 11.

 

 

Andrew Olechnowicz starred with 26 points in Rovers 76-31 win over Lara Giants.

 

 

David Reardon led the Giants, finishing with 11 points.

 

 

An even team performance helped Sharks to an 84-40 victory against Dolphins.

 

 

Guards Dane Bow (19 points) and James Deocampo (18) proved too much to handle for Dolphins, who were best served by 11 points from both Jamie Plowman and Salabat Khan.

 

 

Five players scored in double figures as Try Boys Bears led at every change in an 80-54 win over an undermanned YMCA.

 

 

Veteran guard Paul Hutchison top scored with 18 for the Bears, while Steve Hyland had 16.

 

 

Kris Van Parreren was Y’s best with 13.

 

 

A 22-2 to third quarter proved the difference in Vytis’ 60-44 win over Try Boys.

 

 

The Knights trailed by seven at the half, but led by 13 at the final change, as Steve Wiasak (16 points) and Romas Liebiech (15) ran riot.

 

 

Cameron Brown finished with 14 for Try Boys.
