Supercat guard Nick Owusu exploded for 60 points in a stunning individual performance as Christian College put Lara to the sword with a 121-54 win. Owusu had 37 across the first three quarters, before dropping 23 in the last period, which included six bombs from beyond the arc. He received good support from fellow Supercat Keith Harrison (24 points) and Brett Seljak (14) who is back from his freshman year at the University of West Georgia. Adam Martin top scored for Lara with 15 points, while Mark Evans had 10.

If the Eagles’ 121 was impressive, than Try Boys Bears were stunning as they romped to a 129-64 result against Tigers. Veteran guard Paul Hutchison had 31 points, Patrick Phillips 25 and Steve Hyland 22, as six Bears scored in double figures. For the Tigers, Ben Scannell was their best with 21, while Andrew Luttrell finished with 14.

Vytis continued its good form with a 91-68 win over Rovers. The Knights were best served by Steve Wiasak’s 26 points, while Lachie Headlam finished with 20. Andrew Olechnowicz paced Rovers with 32, while Josh Symons had 24.

Big V Cats’ teammates Dane Bow and Steve Thomas both had 17 points as Sharks rolled Try Boys 89-63. Jarrod Lee led Try Boys with 16, while Jake Mongelli had 15.

Jason Reardon starred with 34 points as Pivot City came from a point down at three quarter time to beat YMCA 62-53. He had 14 in the final term, while big man James Walker had six of his 15 for the night. Veteran Jordan Hill led Y with 21.

In the women’s competition, Rovers Hawks continued its winning run with a 67-62 over Sharks. Trailing by eight at the last change, Hawks outscored Sharks 20-7 in the final term to claim victory. Jess Watson’s good form at both club and representative level continued with 20 points, while Young Lady Cats’ teammate Lauren Bellegante had 19.

Mel Schwarz was Sharks’ best with 20, with Sharon Ford dropping 17. Lady Cat veterans’ Candice Rogers (27 points) and Vicki King (21) combined to help YMCA return to the winners’ list with a 64-46 result over Pivot City. Sarah Welfare led the Pivotonians with 11.

Try Boys handed Rovers a 72-37 hiding. Young Lady Cats’ skipper Tash Daffy led all scorers with 22 for the Bears, while Tania Du Plessis had 10 for Rovers.
