An even contest between Rovers height and Pivot's speed.

Try Boys Bears have sent YMCA tumbling out of the top four- and at the same time consolidated second spot on the ladder- with a comfortable 83-49 win in Basketball Geelong Championship action on Tuesday night.

Veteran duo Paul Hutchison (23 points) and Glenn Sharp (21) were the standouts for the Bears.

Big V back-up centre Pete Van Der Burg was Y’s best with 14 points.

Sharks returned to the winners’ list with an 85-46 result against struggling Dolphins.

Dane Bow carried his recent good form at Big V level into the match, scoring 28 points.

Youth League big man Ben McCawley top scored for Dolphins with 14.

Christian College stayed within striking distance of the top two with a 91-60 win over Tigers.

Supercats’ back-up big Seb Loader proved the difference between the two teams with a 30 point haul.

Simon Evans and Ben Scannell both had 15 for Tigers.

Vytis remained in a share of fourth with the Eagles after making light work of Try Boys 92-41.

Michael Rebula led the Knights’ charge with 23 points.

Rovers chalked up just its third win of the season by beating Lara 63-36.

Rovers Hawks further consolidated a spot in the women’s top four with a 92-55 smashing of YMCA Cougars.

Melbourne Tigers’ Youth League star Tarryn McPherson (26 points) was again the standout for the Hawks.

Jana Van Parreren top scored for Cougars with 19.

A Candice Rogers-inspired YMCA was too good for Sharks 72-52.

Rogers (30 points) and Lady Cats’ teammate Ash Hatton (26) proved too much for Sharks to handle, who were best served by Mel Schwarz with 16 points.

An undermanned Rovers maintained second spot with a 48-38 victory over Pivot City.

Veteran Jenny Male led the victors with 15 points, while Olivia Cameron also had 15 for the Pivotonians.
