Championship Women (13-5): vs. Eltham (2-16) @ The Arena Annexe, Saturday 8.00pm & vs. Diamond Valley (9-10) @ Diamond Valley Sports & Fitness, Sunday 3.00pm

The win to seal the minor premiership is proving elusive for the Lady Cats. They’ve now lost three straight matches, including Sunday’s 61-57 defeat at the hands of Waverley after leading by as much as 13 points during the third quarter. “(It was) possibly our most disappointing loss of the season, coach Grantley Bernard said. “Everyone really felt it after we had put ourselves in good position to get the win. But when you shoot 1-16 in the final period, with several of those shots from in and around the paint, you're going to struggle." Saturday night’s clash with the struggling Eltham provides the Lady Cats with a little respite, however Bernard is well aware of the danger the Wildcats could pose. “We simply have to focus on Eltham, do what needs to be done with genuine commitment from minute one to minute 40. To say we need a win is understatement, but it would be nice to get rid of this little losing streak."

Division 1 Men (15-3): vs. Keysborough (2-15) @ The Arena Annexe, Sunday 1.00pm

With the minor premiership, and home-court advantage during the finals, locked away following a comfortable 109-78 win over Sunbury, the Cats will use the next fortnight as a tune-up for August. Once again an even team contribution helped Geelong to victory, with Chris Brown (22 points, nine rebounds and three assists), Paul Hutchison (19 points) and JJ Paton (18 points) taking the scoring pressure off Jason Reardon. However the former Supercats was still starring, falling just short again of a triple-double, with 13 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists, as well as three steals for good measure. Like the Lady Cats, the men have a clash with the competition’s cellar-dweller. However coach Shayne Bow is also wary of the lowly Cougars. “Keysborough have picked up a couple of recruits late in the season and, even though, they are on the bottom of the ladder, we’ll still have to show some respect and be on our game.”

Youth League Women (9-9): vs. Eltham (9-8) @ The Arena Annexe, Saturday 6.00pm

The Young Lady Cats are playing for pride with two games left in their inaugural season, despite a 66-53 win over Ringwood. The victory was not enough to keep their playoff hopes alive, with other results going against them. Jess Watson continued to lay her claims on the league MVP award with 20 points and 19 rebounds. While fellow big Jess Barnard had 19 points and 15 rebounds, earning praise from coach Kat Clancy. “Everyone forgets about Barney each week as she is so reliable. She doesn't get enough credit for the hard work she puts in on the court.” Eltham comes to Geelong on Saturday night needing a win to keep its playoff hopes alive, and Clancy will be keen to end their season after the Wildcats rolled the Young Lady Cats 83-60 in round five. “We have to learn to play four quarters of basketball as it the only difference between us playing or not playing finals.”

Youth League Men (8-7): vs. Diamond Valley (15-1) @ Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness, Saturday 8.00pm

The equation is simple for the Young Cats- beat Diamond Valley and keep their finals hopes alive. Lose to the Eagles, who sit on top of the ladder with just the one loss for the season, and it’s all but curtains for 2010. The last time the two sides met was back in round three when Diamond Valley handed Geelong a 103-57 hiding. Steve Wiasak (20.1 ppg) was missing that night and will add some much needed size against the giant Eagles’ front line. The availability of Michael Rebula Dane Bow could also be a key. Rebula has seen minutes in recent weeks with the Supercats, and may be part of Jamie O’Loughlin’s squad for Saturday night’s trip to Frankston. While Bow has been in good shooting touch with the senior men in recent weeks, and with the Cats not playing until Sunday, he may be called on by coach David Brown to add some scoring power.
