WHAT ARE CLASSIFICATION
GAMES?
All junior teams (U18 and below) will participate in classification
games the first week of the finals. Please check the schedule under ‘final
matches’ carefully because your team will be playing another game after the
last scheduled round game.
WHERE CAN I VIEW THE
FINALS / CLASSIFICATION FIXTURING?
Final Matches have now been pre-scheduled for ALL divisions are
available at www.basketballgeelong.com.au.
To locate the final matches – select fixtures, and then select ‘Final
Matches’ which appears above the Round Numbers.
HOW MANY GAMES DO I NEED
TO PLAY TO QUALIFY FOR FINALS?
Extract from Basketball Geelong By-Laws (6.05 and 6.06)
To be eligible to play in the Basketball Geelong Finals Series, a player
must compete (i.e. be on the bench in uniform and pay for the game) in at least
one third of the scheduled rounds in the fixture. In the case of the number of
rounds not being divisible by three, the next higher number divisible by three
will be the required number of matches (egg. the required number of matches for
22 scheduled rounds would be 8). Byes do not count as schedule rounds. Byes do
not count as a qualifying game.

A complete list of players and the number of games they have played for
that team will appear.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE NUMBER
OF GAMES I PLAYED IS INCORRECT AND THIS AFFECTS MY ELIGIBILITY?
You need to email your club delegate and advise, providing them with
enough information to contact Basketball Geelong, i.e. the game dates that you
played that have not been counted.
