PIVOT City claimed the Basketball Geelong Championship men’s minor premiership with a 100-61 win over Rovers on Tuesday night.

Once again the Pivotonians produced an even team performance to seal top spot with one round remaining.

Five players scored in double figures, including Big V Division 1 MVP candidate Jason Reardon (21) and veteran Adam Clapinski (19).

Josh Symons was Rovers’ best with 15.

Third placed Christian College kept alive its hopes of a top two finish by defeating second placed Try Boys Bears 72-64.

Seb Loader and Keith Harrison both netted 20 points for the Eagles, while fellow Supercat Nick Owusu finished with 17.

The Paul Hutchison-less Bears were best served by Dom Friend’s 16 points.

Sharks remained inside the top four thanks to a comfortable victory over Lara.

Dane Bow again pressed his claims as season MVP with 29 points for Sharks, while Ryan Mathieson finished with 13 for the Giants.

YMCA have bowed out of the finals race, despite a 104-60 thrashing of Try Boys.

Jordan Hill starred with 43 points, while big man Pete Van Der Burg was strong inside with 27.

The one-two punch of Ben Scannell (25 points) and Andrew Luttrell (22) proved the difference in Tigers 85-75 victory over Dolphins.

Mikey Lesic was again busy for Dolphins, finishing with 19 points.

In the women’s competition minor premier Try Boys will take plenty of confidence into the second semi-final in a fortnight’s time against Rovers, after beating their second-placed rivals 63-48.

Anisa Sijersic’s 17 points led an all-round team performance with four players including Lady Cats’ skipper Sarah De Grandi scoring in double figures.

Lana Ryder’s good shooting form continued with 16 points for Rovers.

YMCA, who will finish the regular season in third spot, disposed of Pivot City with a clinical 75-44 win.

Ash Hatton (23 points) again top scored for Y, while captain Vicki King made a welcome comeback from injury with 17.

Ebony Tannouri’s fine season continued with 16 points for Pivot.

Rovers Hawks locked down fourth spot and a meeting with YMCA in the first week of the finals by beating 59-49.

Lauren Bellegante took the scoring honours for the Hawks with 17 points.

Youth League teammate Sharon Ford did the same for Sharks with 15.
