Under 14 National Club Championships Game 4

14 Boys

U/14 Boys National Club Championship

Date: 29/9/2010

Opponent: Stuart Sabres South Australia

Result: Geelong 69 def Stuart 34

Top 4 Geelong Scorers: Jake Crawley 13, Jamie Sydall 10, Bailey Biggs 10, Jacob Pupavac 8 Jordan O’Leary 8.

Game 4: Our first quarter set up a comfortable win with our first five dominating all over the court, Tom Doedee and Jamie Sydall hit some big three’s and the work effort under the ring by Jake Crawley was fantastic, rounding off the effort was Bailey Biggs and Xavier McKeegan who seemed to be everywhere, they both continued to create opportunities for their team mates by working hard at both ends of the court.

Chris Clyne was very pleased with the boy’s execution of their press breaker and agreed that this game was our best “team effort” of the tournament.

After quarter time the charge was lead by Jacob and Tom Pupavac, with Tom showing glimpses of what is in store for opposition teams next season. Jordan O’Leary nailed a couple of 3’s but his driving and defence was the highlight of his game. Darcy Bennett pulled in some great rebounds before fouling out late in the game and when the last quarter started we saw Cohen Blythe come to the frontline of attack and defence with his reverse layup under huge pressure was absolutely first class, special mention to Tom Doedee for his assists and unyielding defence for the entire game.

Cheers from Canberra

Tim O’Leary
