Supercats School League - Team Entry extended to the 27 April

The 2011 School year will see the launch of the Supercats School league, a new school basketball competition facilitated by the Basketball Geelong and Geelong Supercats.

The direct involvement of both the Supercat men and women’s teams will assist in improving skill levels of players.
This competition has been launched in conjunction with the 2011 Superhoops program, all part of the Supercats community engagement program. The Superhoops program provides free in-school basketball clinics, with those participants now able to progress to organised after-school basketball competitions. Both the Superhoops program and Supercats School League are supported in partnership by McDonalds North Geelong
The Supercats School League (SSL) is a basketball competition open to all primary schools in the Greater Geelong region. There are competitions for Prep to Grade 6 students, with all competitions mixed catering for boys and girls.
The league is to start in second term on Monday 2nd May
All Games are conducted at The Geelong Arena - 110 Victoria Street, North Geelong (next to North Geelong Train Station). Games commence at 4.10pm and last for 50 minutes. With different grades playing on different days:
- Prep to Grade 2 - Wednesdays
- Grade 3 & 4 - Mondays
- Grade 5 & 6 - Thursdays
For more information on how to join your school basketball team contact your schools basketball coordinator. If your school does not have after school teams, and you would like to play please contact Amy at Basketball Geelong. We can help you to set up a team within your school and provide you will all the necessary administration and coaching assistance, including uniforms.
Team Entry is $60 per season, with 2 seasons running per year. The cost for each player is $6.50 (per week) and annual registration fee of $45 (per player).
