Basketball Geelong Championship Wrap Round 6

Former Ballarat star Brett Goodgame exploded for 42 points in Rovers’ 93-69 Basketball Geelong Championship win over Tigers on Tuesday night.

Goodgame effectively the ended the match as a contest in the first quarter, scoring 13 points as Rovers raced to a 31-13 advantage.

Simon Evans scored 21 for Tigers, while Ben Scannell had 20.

Despite the addition of Brett Seljak after his second year at the University of West Georgia, Christian College Silver went down to Vytis 66-62.

Seljak had 13 points, but was overshadowed by teammate Tim King, who finished with 30.

Michael Rebula (26 points) and Steve Wiasak (21) were the best for the victorious Knights.

Nick Kent (22 points) and James Walker (20) combined to help Pivot City dish out an 89-42 hiding to Christian College White.

Nathan Freind was the only scorer in double figures for the Eagles, finishing with 19 points.

Try Boys had all six players score in double-figures in its 83-43 win over Lara.

Veteran duo Marty De Lange (19 points) and Steve Hyland (18) both dominated.

Michael Hammond led Lara with 13 points.

Despite 21 points from big man Ben McCawley, Dolphins were no match for Sharks, going down 79-56.

Kiam Linford’s 16 points were best for the winners.

In the women’s competition, Cortney Williamson continued her fine form for Dolphins, scoring 35 points in the 91-37 smashing of Lara.

Ang McDonagh provided the only resistance for the Giants, finishing with 23 points.

Ana Marinovic’s sensational return to Basketball Geelong Championship got even better with a 34 point haul in Pivot City’s 77-51 win over Rovers.

Jess Watson was Rovers’ best with 18.

Star Try Boys’ duo Anisa Sijersic (25 points) and Anna Teague (20) combined for 45 points in the Bears 76-45 result against Sharks.

Sharon Ford was again the Sharks best with 15.
