Stadium Scoring is the latest initiative within Basketball Australia's comprehensive "Basketball Network" project - a project which is powering technology at over 80% of Australia's Basketball Associations.

 

Inspired by the success of SportingPulse's LiveStats project, and with models like Ten Pin Bowling to draw from, the Stadium Scoring project was orignally outlined conceptually over five years ago.

 

Now, with the FIBA Organizer Project roll out largely complete, Basketball Australia has commissioned SportingPulse to take the sport to a new level in Australia, integrating FIBA Organizer Online Results and remote courtside scoring technologies to bring associations huge benefits, and engage customers in the delivery of scores and results courtside.

 

What is Stadium Scoring?

In simple terms, stadium scoring is the electronic management of game scores and results courtside, and the integration of that information with the competition management systems.

Stadium scoring implies that participants score games electronically, not on paper, using touch screen, notebook or PDA type technology.

When do we get a go?

It is currently being trialled at the Arena on Court 1 (Thursday’s, Friday’s and Monday’s). Basketball Geelong Staff have just finished their training and now we are in the process of showing the referees and club representatives how it is done!

If you see the system in use – ask to have a go! With continued successful trials – you will see stadium scoring replace the scoresheet in the coming months.
