Basketball Geelong Championship Wrap Round 14

Dolphins v Eagles (Silver)

Pivot City has regained top spot on the Basketball Championship table with a 63-59 win over previous ladder-leader Try Boys.

The Pivotonians overcame a seven-point deficit at three-quarter time to claim victory over the Bears.

Veteran Adam Clapinski top scored for Pivot with 13 points, while James Walker, Jason Reardon and Nick Kent all had 12.

Glenn Sharp (19 points) and Paul Hutchison (18) were the main offensive threats for Try Boys.

A 34-point haul from experienced shooter Jordan Hill helped YMCA to a 79-71 win over fellow finals contender Vytis.

Y, which led by one point at quarter time, extended the margin to a more comfortable 11 with a 28-18 second term.

Supercats’ rookie Michael Rebula paced the Knights with 21 points.

Sharks proved too strong for Rovers with a 100-54 result.

Dane Bow scored 38 points, including 27 in the second half, while Chris Eichler was best for Rovers with 25.

The fine form of Dolphins’ big man Ben McCawley continued in a 74-60 win over Christian College Silver.

Tim King should again be among the MVP voting after another solid performance which produced 25 points.

Tigers overcame a slow start to hand Lara a 76-30 hiding.

Ben Scannell (23 points) and coach Simon Evans (21) provided the one-two punch for Tigers.

Michael Hammond was best for the Giants with 10 points.

Sharks moved into third spot on the women’s championship ladder with a 63-45 victory over Lara.

Kelly Snell led an even team performance with 19 points, while Sharon Ford finished with 18.

Lady Supercat Caitlin Shadbolt kept the Giants competitive with 18 points of her own.

Despite the return of talented big Alex Sheedy after more than a month on the sidelines, Dolphins fell to unbeaten ladder leader Pivot City 80-52.

Sheedy did her bit with 17 points, but couldn’t match the 26 from Bianca Cheever and Ana Marinovic’s 19 for the Pivotonians.

Rovers’ continued YMCA’s miserable season with an 84-32 smashing.

Tarryn McPherson was best for Rovers with 24 points, with Lauren Bellegante dropping 18.
