Basketball Geelong

Young basketballers from across Victoria will converge on the region this weekend for the third annual Geelong Junior Tournament.

A record 83 teams, up from 61 in 2010, will compete across four age groups, with teams coming from as far away as Wangaratta, Bendigo, Warrnambool and Hamilton.

Basketball Geelong will be well represented, with 17 teams taking to the court as part of their preparation for the new VJBL season.

Ballarat has also shown its support for the tournament, sending 14 of its rosters.

Matches will be played at Geelong Arena Annex and Corio Leisuretime Centre, with grand finals to be contested tomorrow afternoon.
