Basketball faithful say farewell to a mate

Basketball Geelong and Try Boys Life Member Clarrie Kerger was remembered this morning as a husband, a father, a Pa, a neighbour, a workmate, and above all a friend. Known to all as an honest and hard working man who was always there to lend a helping hand, the memorial paid tribute to work and involvement in basketball and the Freemason Lodge.

Black and red ribbons were worn by the basketball community in honour of Clarrie's many years of service to the Try Boys Brigade and the Try Boys Basketball Club.

Basketball Geelong and the Geelong Supercats express their deepest sympathies to Carlolyn, Liz, Jenny, Michael and the rest of the family.

Anybody wishing to honour Clarrie's memory can do so by making a donation to the St John of God Palliative care unit.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
