A stunning performance from Anthony Kimble has inspired Dolphins to an 87-82 upset of YMCA in Round 15 Geelong Basketball League Winter Championship action on Tuesday night.

The American poured in 45 points, connecting on eight three-point attempts.

Kimble was well supported by 17 points from Big V Supercats teammate Mikey Lesic.

Veteran Jordan Hill was best for Y with 23 points, while Lewie Varley had 18.

Pivot City moved into a share of top spot with a comfortable 82-60 victory over Try Boys.

The Pivotonians held sway at every break, putting the contest beyond doubt with a 28-15 third period.

Jamie Medved was best for Pivot with 23 points, while Zach Moore contributed 16.

Nathan Maxwell was a constant offensive threat for the Bears with 18 points.

Sharks remain in contention for a top-two finish with a 67-52 result against an improving Rovers outfit.

Dane Bow’s recent good form continued with 23 points, while Seamus Hants chimed in with 18.

Adam Coombes again impressed for Rovers with 17 points.

A second-half scoring blitz from Christian College proved the difference in the Eagles 86-58 win over Vytis.

The Knights held a 46-36 advantage at the main break. However Christian College turned the match on its head following the change, outscoring their opponents 50-26 in the final two quarters.

Youngster George Blagojevic paced the Eagles with 23 points, while Jackson Bentley dropped 15.

Lachie Headlam was best for Vytis with 17 points, while Steve Wiasak and Marty Liebich had 16 apiece.

YMCA caused one of the upsets of the women’s GBL season, defeating championship contender 66-35.

Vicki King (26 points) and Charmaine Ferguson (25) proved a handful for the Dolphins defence, as Y claimed just their third win of the season.

Youngster Tiarna Rolph led Dolphins with 13 points, while SEABL Lady Supercats captain Cortney Williamson finished with 12.

Sharks reclaimed top spot on the table with a 56-47 win over fellow finalist Rovers.

Guard duo Georgia Varley (19 points) and Alex Duck (16) proved the difference between the two sides.

Lauren Bellegante paced Rovers’ scoring with 10 points.

Pivot City outclassed Try Boys 74-34 to keep its slim playoff chances alive.

Pivot had four players score in double figures, led by 21 points from Bianca Cheever and 15 from Madi Boyd.

The Bears, who went into the contest with key guard Tash Daffy, were best served by 11 points from Jacinta Sutton.
