Junior Supercat Try Outs and Head Coaches Announced
Following an overwhelming response to recent expressions of interest, the Geelong Supercats are pleased and excited to announce the following coach appointments for the upcoming 2014 Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) season.
Under 12 Boys - Mr. Kelwyn Hough
Under 14 Boys - Mr. Dean Talbot
Under 16 Boys - Mr. Rod Boone
Under 18 Boys - To be advised shortly
Under 20 Boys - To be advised shortly
Under 12 Girls - Ms. Ainslie Howard
Under 14 Girls - Mr. Michael Bishop
Under 16 Girls - Mr. Col Darrington
Under 18 Girls - Ms. Kylie Morrisey
Bruce Hultgren, Geelong Supercats Director of Coaching said ‘We would like to congratulate the above coaches on their appointments’. Whilst the appointments relate to the head coach of the age groups nominated, further selections are still taking place to fill other coaching roles. ‘Appointments are still occurring to ensure a consistent and measured development program for aspiring Supercats in 2014’ said Hultgren.
‘The 2014 program is shaping up to be one of the best yet and we're looking forward to seeing what these coaches can do with our future Supercats’ said Hultgren.
With try outs fast approaching, athletes from all over are invited to participate. ‘The try outs for our junior program start this weekend. We are expecting a great turn out with the aim of successfully competing at the highest levels in all age groups’ said Hultgren
Players wishing to try out from other associations are reminded that they must bring a signed ‘permission to train’ form with them before hitting the floor.
Tryouts take place on the following dates at the home of the Supercats.
The Arena - 110 Victoria St, North Geelong.
