GBL Winter Championship Division 1 Wrap- Round 7

CORTNEY Williamson has produced a stunning 41-point haul in DOLPHINS comfortable 82-57 win over LARA in GBL Winter Championship action on Tuesday night.

Williamson was unstoppable as she contributed half of her team’s points.

Dolphins held a 25-19 advantage at quarter time before putting the contest to bed with a 16-8 second term.

Chloe Lee (11 points) and Mikaela Watson (10) both reach double figures for the winners, while Williamson’s Lady Supercats teammate Caitlin Shadbolt was again best for Lara with 22 points.

Veteran guard Vicki King returned from a niggling calf injury to score 23 points as YMCA came from six points behind at three-quarter time to beat PIVOT CITY 57-51.

Pivot appeared headed for victory on the back of Bianca Cheever’s 18 points, but were outscored 19-7 in the final period.

King was well supported by 12 points from big Tayla Roberts, while Olivia Cameron also scored 12 for Pivot City.

ROVERS had too many offensive options for SHARKS in a 71-63 victory.

Grace Parker (22 points) and Tania Du Plessis (16) proved too hard to stop inside as Sharks went in without a genuine big.

Lana Ryder contributed 14 points.

Alex Duck (28 points) and Georgia Varley (26) did the bulk of the scoring for Sharks, with only four players finding the score sheet.

CHRISTIAN COLLEGE has consolidated second spot on the men’s ladder with a 67-58 victory over LARA.

The Eagles trailed by 10 points at quarter time after the Giants poured in 28 points in the opening period.

However with Joel McFall (22 points) and Liam McInerney (20 points) scoring regularly, Christian College was able to cut back the margin to five at the main break.

By three-quarter time they had taken back the lead as they outscored Lara 19-6.

Lindsay Cole again paced the Giants scoring with 18, with Rob Harding dropping 10 points.

PIVOT CITY led at every break on its way to a 74-66 result against YMCA.

The Pivotonians led by just five points at half time, however that was 11 by three-quarter time as the reigning champions outscored Y 24-18.

Jason Reardon’s impressive form continued with 27 points, which included knocking down six three-point attempts.

Trevor Hartwick (12 points) and Steve Packer (11) were also key contributors.

Mitchell Herbert (21 points) and Emerson Varley (15 points) kept Y competitive.

SHARKS climbed to third with a 69-53 win over VYTIS

In his first game of the season David McCartney starred with 20 points for the winners, with Seamus Hants, Shane Hunter, James Deocampo and Loclan Wilson all shooting 11 points.

Steve Wiasak played a lone hand for the Knights with 27 points.
