Commissioner appointments
Basketball Geelong is please to announce the appointment of two new faces to our Commission.
Mark Talbot is a casual vacancy appointment that arose from the resignation of Ainslie Howard.
A former vice-president of Pivot City, Mr Talbot will hold the position until our Annual General Meeting where will nominate for a permanent position.
"Mark’s appointment will create a vacancy on the Competitions Committee as he will become the commission representative instead," Basketball Geelong CEO Dean Anglin said.
"The benefit of this is the history and knowledge Mark has of our competitions and by-laws."
Leigh Dawson has been appointed as a Co-opted Commissioner and will assume the role of treasurer.
Employed by the CBA (Commonwealth Bank), Mr Dawson's extensive financial background will be of much benefit to Basketball Geelong.
He is a former president of the Lara Giants Basketball Club and is a current coach in our VJBL program.
"As the former president of one of our fastest growing clubs, Leigh will provide the board with a great understanding of the requirements of our clubs," Mr Anglin said.
