Head Coach Paul Simpson commented following the announcement of the team "Selection for this team has been really tough, all the girls on the squad bring a different quality to the make up of this team. It was very difficult for the coaching staff to make the final cut."

"We have a mix of country and metro girls and also a couple of really talented bottom age players who have worked hard and been able to step up to this next Level."

"Defending a National Championship is always a tough ask, however, the girls are 100% committed to achieving this. We will work hard over the next five weeks to ensure our preparation is where it needs to be to keep the 2008 Championship in Victoria." Simpson said.

"SA and NSW teams are always strong and this year will be no exception, both squads have quite a few kids who are now at the AIS," said Simpson, adding, "It will also be a huge challenge for us to match up against the likes of 6'6 centre Marianna Tolo from QLD and 6'5  Cayla Francis from SA."

The squad has a hectic run towards the Championships with a full schedule both on and off the court.
