Geelong goes international for top youth bball

David Brown, a former Scottish international, will take on the role and said he was looking forward to the side's upcoming season, that begins at The Arena against Bendigo on March 29.
``I am extremely pleased and excited having now selected the squad and been made to feel at home in Geelong, as my wife and I only moved here in December from Scotland,'' Brown said.
``I am expecting the team to work hard, work well together and enjoy the basketball they play.
``I feel success will come on the back of this and I will be looking to continue Geelong's successful participation in the Big V.''
Brown said a visit to Melbourne for the 2006 Commonwealth Games sparked his move Down Under from Scotland.
``I was extremely impressed with the infrastructure and enthusiasm surrounding basketball in Victoria and my wife and I decided to emigrate to Victoria and specifically the Geelong-Bellarine area,'' he said.
``I contacted (Basketball Geelong president) Frank Morrissey last year to let him know I was moving and in January I had a trial coaching game against Melbourne Tigers having never met any of the players.
``We won that game and I was appointed then.''
