Basketball Geelong Juniors in National Tournament
Basketball Geelong is proud to announce that three of our Junior Representative teams will be competing at the National Junior Classic Basketball Tournament, 7 – 9 June.
The Under 12 boys, who won the Country Victoria Championships, and sit second on the ladder in the Victorian Junior Championship League, will represent Geelong at this year’s Classic Tournament.
Only having lost one game this season, we expect the boys to have a good tournament and play some very competitive basketball at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, this Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
Also representing our Junior Program will be the Under 16 boys and girls, who will play their games at the Dandenong stadium over the long weekend.
Both teams had to win their VJBL games last Friday to make the cut, and did so in convincing fashion.
It will be an exciting weekend of basketball, with all teams competing against strong interstate teams as well as the best in Victorian.
The Under 18 girls also made the cut but are unfortunately unable to attend due to three vital team members being unavailable to participate.
