Junior Coaching Positions

The Basketball Geelong Junior Representative Basketball Program involves both girls and boys teams consisting of athletes selected from the Basketball Geelong domestic competition;

The teams in the Junior Representative Basketball Program compete in the Victoria Junior Basketball League (VJBL).  The program also articulates with key development programs and competitions conducted by the Basketball Victoria Country Council (BVCC) and this year seven players from the program have represented Country Victoria at Junior National Championships.

The program is currently seeking suitable Basketball Coaches to volunteer their time in coaching and developing young girls and boys under our program structure.

Key duties include:

  • Coaching of teams; these teams range from U12 through to U18 age groups – both Boys and Girls: (16 teams in season 2008)

  • Commit to coaching your team for VJBL games, at tournaments and other events as required and where practicable.
  • Commit and arrange a minimum of one training session each week.
  • Attend all Junior Representative Program functions where practical.
  • Abide by, and promote, the Basketball Victoria Code of Conduct and the Junior Representative Basketball Program Code of Conduct and Rules.
  • Operate under the instructions, direction and authority of Basketball Geelong, its Board and the management committee of the Basketball Geelong Junior Representative Basketball Program.
  • It is also desirable for coaches to be involved in the BVCC development program.

Applications close on 15th August 2008.

 

Applications will then be assessed ahead of Program try outs which will be conducted on the 4th and 5th of October 2008
