A match up of teams currently building a rivalry in another sport, but on the Big V stage, the quest for success will be just as fierce.
Geelong will head to the Boroondara Sports Complex to take on Hawthorn, two teams returning to Division 1 this year, with a goal of improving on their respective conclusions to the 2008 season.
Hawthorn is trying to turn around a fifth place finish last season, and has taken strides to show definite improvement, finishing the pre season Tournament with the record of two wins and one loss.
Geelong is coming off an extremely admirable campaign last season and were eventual runners up.
Limited preparation may hamper Geelong’s chances, still, they should be too strong for the Magic.
