Sydney East Weight and Age

The lack of size and weight didn’t stop these kids from putting on a show of determination, skill and agility. On Tuesday the 8th of September at North Barton Park, schools from the Cronulla, St George and South Sydney districts were on hand to play in the Sydney East Weight and Age Gala Day, the day was held for students aged under 14 and 65kgs and under 16 and 75kgs.

With the day’s concept to introduce kids that don’t play Junior League football to a more even playing field in relation to players weights, making it safer for them all most every team had about half the team never playing competitive Rugby League before. With no massive size differences the games were decided by skill and speed rather than muscle, no games were better at displaying this than the 14’s Final being won by GRC Hurstville defeating Woolooware and the 16’s Final were Woolooware claimed victory this time over South Sydney.

Congratulations to all who participated especially Alban Richardson, Jack Rodgers, Michael Pengu winners of the Finals Players Player.
