Redbacks take a bite out of Wolves finals chance
THE Joondalup City Wolves went down 50 to 84 to the Redbacks in Saturday night's State Basketball League women's game at Joondalup Basketball Stadium.
Daniele Lipscombe top-scored for the Wolves with 10 points, along with five rebounds and one blocked shots, with Meghan D'arcy their next highest scorer on eight points and three rebounds.
Renae Camino top-scored for the Redbacks with 36 points along with nine rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocked shots, and Brooke Hiddlestone scored 26 points, along with 14 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
Also last Saturday night, the highly-rated Wolves defeated the Redbacks men's team 100 to 80.
Wolves player Jeff Dowdell, who also plays for the Perth Wildcats, was the game-high scorer with 37 points, along with 10 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Fellow Wildcats player Alex Loughton was their next highest scorer with 18 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocked shots.
US import Chris Lynch top-scored for the Redbacks with 33 points, along with 11 rebounds and two steals, with Ryan Neill their next highest scorer with 14 points and six rebounds.
