North West Coast to run local pennant as they see fit.
A recent alteration to the Bowls Tasmania Constitution has allowed the regions to run their pennant competitions as they see fit. The change was made at the Bowls Tasmania AGM on Monday May 26, 2014. Delegates from the NWTBA and the NWTWBA joined with Bowls South to amend the Constitution to allow the change to be made. President David Gewin said the change will remove all doubt about

NORTH WEST WINS TWO STATE TITLES
The North West Coast won the top two State Pennant Finals to keep this region at the fore front of bowls in Tasmania.

TIM DOUCE WINS THIRD STATE TRIPLES CHAMPIONSHIP
11/3/14
Devonport bowler Tim Douce along with elder brother Greg (Latrobe)and Rohan Donahue from Deloraine have won the Bowls Tasmania Open Triples Championship. They defeated the Latrobe team of Rodney Horton, Graeme Moore and Phillip Moore in an entertaining final. It is the third year in a row that Tim has been a part of the winning Triples team.

NWTBA REIGNS SUPREME IN STATE WIDE PENNANT

The NWTBA representative team has once again won the Veolia State Wide State Pennant after another two resounding wins over the South and the North. It is the fifth year in succession that the Coastal team has won the title as the most dominant region in the State. NITZ WINS HIS 7TH ASSOCIATION SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP
18/2/14
Star Burnie bowler Mark Nitz won his 7th NWTBA Open Singles Championship on Sunday with a convincing win over Greg Douce from Latrobe. The Under 25 title went to Michael Sims from Latrobe who defeated Bradley Gibson of Turners Beach. The Minor Championship went to Leroi Court from Latrobe who prevailed over Peter Lockhart from South Burnie. Well done to all participants.

ASSOCIATION OPEN & MINOR PAIRS & FOURS
03/02/14
Latrobe bowlers Greg Douce and Tony Maney won the NWTBA Open Pairs Championship yesterday defeating another Latrobe combination of Charlie Siely and Ian moore by 2 shots. In an all Spreyton affair in the Minor section it was Phil Brown and Don Corbett who triumphed over Bob O'Donnell and Chris Smith winning 19-15 in another close contest.
The final of Fours were not played.

SPREYTON TRIO WINS ASSOCIATION OPEN TRIPLES CHAMPIONSHIP

Spreyton players Tony Dickson, Michael Higginson and Alan Duncan yesterday won the N.W.T.B.A. Open Triples Championship. In the Semifinal against Tim Douce, Hector Douce and Greg Smith from Devonport Dickson got up on the last end.In a high class Grand Final against Penguin's Ricky Richardson, Brian Butler and Kim Redshaw scores were level at the end of the allotted number of ends

DEFENCE OF STATEWIDE PENNANT BACK ON TRACK

The NWTBA Statewide Pennant side have got their title defence back on track after two victories against Bowls North played at the North Launceston Bowls Club yesterday. COASTAL TEAM HAS MIXED FORTUNES IN FIRST 2 ROUNDS OF STATE WIDE PENNANT

The North West Coast representative team met with mixed success in the first two rounds of the State Wide Pennant played at the Rosny Park Bowls Club today.
In the first game against the South the Tasmanian side got off to a slow start but were really putting it together over the concluding stages to go down by just 3 shots after trailing by 12 with a few ends to go.

BURNIE DUO WINS TASMANIAN PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP

Burnie players Mark Nitz and David Gewin won the Bowls Tasmania Champion of Champion Pairs final held today in Hobart. The Singles Championship was won by David Genford from the Rosny Park Club in Hobart. They will now represent Tasmania in the Australian Championships later on in the year. Well done lads.

BURNIE EMUS WIN MIDWEEK FINAL BY 1 SHOT

Burnie continued their dominance of the NWTBA Midweek Pennant competition when they defeated new comer Spreyton by the 1 soliarty shot 89-88 played in perfect conditions on an excelllent free running Ulverstone green. Results K Willie lt L Webb 18-26, K Turner lt I Moore 18-19, L Stevens d A Carver 23-18, L Taylor d T Atkinson 30-25.

PENGUIN TRIO DOMINATE ASSOCIATION SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Penguin club certainly has bragging rights today with three of their bowlers winning the Association Open, Minor and Under 25 Singles Championships. In the Open Championship 19 year old Jacob Brown became probably the youngest bowler to ever win the prestigious event when he defeated a previous winner Tim Douce 25-22. In his Semi Final he defeated Alan Carver from Spreyton 25-23.

TIM DOUCE ADDS ANOTHER STATE TITLE TO HIS COLLECTION.
Devonports Tim Douce added another State title to his already impressive record of acheivements when he teamed with Cameron Tegg and former Devonport team mate Jason Lane to win the Tasmanian Open Triples Championshipin Hobart on Monday. He won 23-20 against Longfords Mark Strochnetter, Chris Roach and Andrew Roach.

NWTBA WINS STATEWIDE PENNANT FOR FOURTH TIME IN SUCCESSION

The NWTBA State Wide pennant team once again proved they were the best team in the competition when they defeated both Bowls North and Bowls South in the final two rounds of State Wide pennant played at North Launceston on Sunday. It is the fourth year in succession that the Coast has won the pennant and must prove to one and all that they must be doing things right on the Coast.
