Perth Lynx Season Tips off TONIGHT!

The Go for 2&5 Perth Lynx kick off their 2009/2010 season on Friday 2 October at Perry Lakes Basketball Stadium against the title favourites, Sydney Uni Flames.

Former Go for 2&5 Perth Lynx captain Deanna Smith will be back in Perth for the first time since joining the Flames and will face off against her former team mates in front of what is expected to be a packed house.

The Lynx have recruited well in the off-season, retaining all of their key local players in Rebecca Mercer, Melissa Marsh (2009/2010 Captain), Kate Malpass & Ashley Gilmore.

In addition to these local super-stars the Lynx have recruited two quality US Imports in Takia Starks & Dannielle Campbell to join their group.

Campbell was a draft pick for WNBA club Indiana where she had a taste of WNBA action. At 6"4 she will add much needed height to the Lynx roster.

Starks hails from Texas A&M University, a strong program where she holds the All Time leading scorer record.

We encourage all WABL players and basketball fans to come down and be loud supporting your Perth Lynx. Tip off is at 7:30pm at Perry Lakes Basketball Stadium.
