URGENT: Summer Classic Week One Information
The Go for 2&5 BWA Summer Classic kicks off tonight with the Under 11 to Under 13 tournament running from the November 27 to 29.
For the first time in Summer Classic history, additional venues will be used due to overwhelming nomination numbers. Basketball WA is pleased to announce that all team nominations were accepted for the Week One tournament with the additional venues being used to ensure all participants get to play a maximum number of games.
There will be 279 games of basketball with 86 Metro and Country teams involved from as far as Geraldton. We understand there are some tight time frames and tough situations for everyone to handle throughout the weekend with new venues and an extra night. We appreciate everyone's support and patience with the increased numbers. The positive aspect is that all teams have increased games and will get to play more basketball.
The following information is important for all Summer Classic Patrons over the weekend:
- All Referees, Coaches & Team Managers will receive free entry into the Stadium and will simply need to sing in on the day.
- One Pool Competition - The Top four teams will play the Semi Finals (1 v 4 & 2 v 3) with the winners playing in the Grand Final.
- Two Pool Competition - The top two teams from each pool will play each other in a Semi Final. The winner of each Pools Semi Final will play the Grand Final.
- All winners and runners up receive medallions and each team receives trophies and/or bannerettes.
