Under 14 Challenge Results

Five teams battled it out at the WA Basketball Centre today to earn the third and final position for the 2011 Under 14 Australian Club Championships.

The Boys competition saw just one game after Mandurah were unable to participate. Perry Lakes defeat Cockburn 58-31 to earn the third boys position with Wanneroo & Willetton.

In the Girls competition three games were played in a round-robin format with Cockburn, Mandurah & Wanneroo facing off against each other.

Game one saw the Wolves defeat the Cougars 42-34 in a close encounter. The Wolves were unable to continue that form into the second game of the day as they succumbed to the Mandurah Magic 48-31.

The Cougars needed to win the last game to see all three teams finish 1-1 and go to percentage. However the Magic were too tough as they ran out 60-29 winners to finish undefeated.

The Magic will join the Perry Lakes Hawks & Willetton Tigers in the Girls Under 14 Australian Club Championships in 2011.

Congratulations to all teams who participated today and thank you to those who came to support their teams.
