2012 Under 14 National Club Championship Teams
All teams have now been finalised for the 2012 National Under 14 Club Championships after yesterdays final qualifying tournament.
As per WABL rules the first two places for each of the boys & girls tournaments are given to the Under 13 WABL Grand Final teams.
This year the Grand Final teams were Perry Lakes & Willetton in the Under 13 Boys competition and Willetton & Wanneroo in the Girls competition.
The qualifying tournament yesterday was opened up to all metropolitan & country affiliated associations with four boys teams (Cockburn, Kalamunda, Lakeside & Rockingham) and two girls teams (Rockingham & Stirling) all competing for the final spots.
WA is allowed to send three teams to the Under 14 National Club Championships each year, however in 2012 we will be hosting the Under 14 Boys and each host state is allowed an additional team.
Yesterday Lakeside & Rockingham were undefeated after two games with Kalamunda and Cockburn dropping both of their games. As a result the third and final games were not played with both Lakeside & Rockingham assured of their places.
The girls held only one game with just two teams registerng. Rockingham came out on top over Stirling to earn the final WA place for the girls tournament.
