Great Weekend Away for Talented Redbacks

Over the past weekend, 25 of the Redbacks most promising junior players spent a weekend away in the Wheatbelt town of Kulin.

With assistance from SBL player Jarrad Prior, WABL Coaches Anne-Marie Arnold, Bryn Arnold and Jess Jakens, and SBL Coach Dave Harris, the promising young Redbacks committed to a weekend of intense training, while enjoying the benefits of a tremendous social experience with their fellow players.

After four on-court sessions in two days, these future stars have come away from the expereince with an understanding of how they can improve their individual game, and a realisation of just how fun basketball can be.

On-court sessions were split up by time at the local swimming centre (with Australia's largest inland water-slide), movie sessions, great food and great company. All of the attending athletes should be commended for their positive attitudes and for embracing the cultural expectations of the club. While we preach our values of Family, Community, and Basketball, the weekend in Kulin hilighted just how much of a family and community we really are.

Congratulations to all attending players. Most importantly, thanks to the coaches and volunteers who made the weekend possible.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
