Cockburn Basketball Association is proud to present its Cougar Cubs program. This program is designed for kids aged 3 to 6 years of age and is focused on the following development areas:

• Hand eye Co-ordination
• Motor Skill Development
• Running, Jumping, Stopping, Catching, Passing, Dribbling
• Basic Basketball Fundamental Skill Development and Knowledge
• Fun environment and action a plenty

At Cockburn Basketball we are attempting to provide a pathway for players and coaches to spend a lifetime playing Basketball here in the City of Cockburn. This program will not only be innovative but will assist young aspiring players in the development of essential skills that will last them a lifetime.

David Herbert Development Manager commented, “On a recent trip to Victoria I visited a number of the best programs in Melbourne and I was surprised at how young they began their programs and how skilled so many of the three, four and five year old kids were. On seeing this I felt it was important for Cockburn Basketball to commence a program that caters for these ages and this led to the Cougar Cubs program.

“I am excited to start this program off and look forward to seeing how much progress we can make with kids of this age. Essentially it will be about Basketball but we have incorporated tunnels, climbing objects, games and other activities to make this program as enjoyable as possible.” Herbert added.

The program commences on Saturday 2 June from 8am till 9.15am at the Wally Hagan Sports Stadium on Starling Street in Hamilton Hill.
