East Perth - New Management Structure

East Perth District Basketball Association (EPDBA) is pleased to advise that the updated constitution, incorporating the new governance structure, was approved by special resolution at a General Meeting of Members on 29 October 2012 at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre.

The Constitution has been lodged with the Commissioner for Consumer Protection, once notice has been received from the Commissioner, the updated Constitution will take effect.

To align with the new constitution and as set out in the Notice of Meeting, the General Meeting also elected a new Executive Board:

Chair - Anthony Fletcher
Director of Basketball – Tim Sparks
Director of Business – Brett Nazarri
Director of Communications - Anthony Sparks
Director of Finance – Jeff Oates
Secretary - Rae Berry.

As previously outlined in previous meetings of Members, and as set out in the East Perth Eagles’ website, the change in structure is to stream line the Executive Board Positions and make the Association more strategic focused at the executive level rather than dominated by operational matters.

This change in structure will facilitate greater involvement by players and parents (without having to nominate to be a Director) with the focus on operational areas being addressed by members at working group level. The new structure identifies a number of various working groups and committees, with distinctive roles, which members may wish to contribute to.

Your Association is now seeking Expressions of Interest from interested players, parents, and members both past and present, to fill the positions outlined in the new structure. The new structure and Expression of Interest Form can be downloaded below and will also be available on the East Perth Eagles’ website. The Expression of Interest Form can be completed and sent to admin@eastperth.basketball.net.au.

We will soon be releasing an Information Booklet that will include, where appropriate, further details on the role and responsibilities for the working groups and various key positions within the new structure. The details on the operational positions to be addressed within each working group will developed by each working group as they break down the roles and tasks required to be done within each area of the Association.

Should you wish to discuss any of the positions, or have any questions, do not hesitate to forward them to admin@eastperth.basketball.net.au or alternatively contact any of the members of the new Executive in their respective areas of interest?

EPDBA Executive Board wishes to thank the members for their support in this change in structure and look forward to the members filling the roles and making East Perth District Basketball Association a better club.
