The Perth Basketball Association continues our off-season player development program during February with an invitation to all players to participate in specialised skills sessions at the Leisurelife Centre in Victoria Park.

These sessions are aimed at players of all levels (even if not currently playing in Redbacks domestic competitions or WABL) who would like to develop their game and also find out a bit more about Redbacks Basketball.

Sessions will be run by the coaches of the Redbacks SBL teams Narelle Henry and Nik Lakovic, and Perth Redbacks Womens Player Development Coordinator Stuart Budd and are aimed at exposing players to a high level of training and fundamental skills development.

It will also be a great opportunity for kids to develop their skills ahead of the Redbacks WABL tryouts which will be held on Sunday 17 February 2013.

Some of our Mens and Womens SBL players including current West Coast Waves player Rachel Lisch and current Perth Wildcat Mike Vigor,as well as former Wildcats Joel Wagner, Jarrad Prior and Justin Brown will be there to assist.

The Redbacks have already run successful development sessions throughout December and January for our WABL teams with a huge focus on our Womens program.

Redbacks are also finalising the planning of our popular WABL Kulin Development Camp where our WABL players spend a weekend together honing their basketball skills and getting to know kids from other age groups within our club.

February 3, 2013 Open Skills Day # 1
9.00am to 11.00am for U11s, U12s, U13s and U14s boys and girls (U11s players are invited to attend the U12 sessions)
11.00am to 1.00pm for the U15s, U16s and U18s boys and girls

February 10: Open Skills Day # 2
These sessions will be 1.5 hr sessions run by the coaching staff of each team with the U12s commencing at 9.00am sharp. U11s players are invited to attend the U12 sessions.
These sessions are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
U12s 9am to 10.30am (U11s players are invited to attend the U12 sessions)
U13s 10.30am to 12.00pm
U14s 12.00pm to 1.30pm
U15s 1.30pm to 3.00pm
U16s 3.00pm to 4.30pm
U18s 4.30pm to 6.00pm
(Women will be on Court 1 and Men on Court 2)

February 17: WABL Tryouts and Open Day # 3
Perth Basketball Association is conducting open trials for players wanting to represent the Perth Redbacks in the 2013 WABL competition.
The sessions will be 1.5 hr sessions run by the WABL coaching staff of age group with the U12s commencing at 9.00am sharp. U11s players are invited to attend the U12 sessions.
U12s 9am to 10.30am (U11s players are invited to attend the U12 sessions)
U13s 10.30am to 12.00pm
U14s 12.00pm to 1.30pm
U15s 1.30pm to 3.00pm
U16s 3.00pm to 4.30pm
U18s 4.30pm to 6.00pm
(Women will be on Court 1 and Men on Court 2)

A cost of $5.00 per player per session will be charged and will need to be paid to the coaches or managers before each session.

Players who played WABL in 2012 for another club must have a completed ‘intent to approach’ form signed by your previous club prior to attending development sessions.
