2014 U14 & U15 Development Tour Trials Announced

Basketball WA (BWA) is pleased to announce that it is taking applications for the 2014 Under 14 and Under 15 Development Tour Trials.

Each year in January Basketball WA selects U14 and U15 athletes to represent WA in Development Tours providing them with the opportunity to compete against development squads from other States at both the Country Cup (Albury-Wodonga) and Southern Cross Challenge (Melbourne) tournaments.

These tours allow coaches and junior WA athletes to gain experience in high level tournament play preparing them for potential involvement in State Teams in the future.

Teams represent both Country and Metropolitan WA in the U14 and U15 age groups for both men and women.

This year the following WA teams will be entered:

SOUTHERN CROSS CHALLENGE
What: U14 & U15 Tournament
Where: Knox, Victoria
When: 17-20 Jan 2014
Teams:

  • U14 Metro Men
  • U14 Metro Women
  • U15 Metro Men
  • U15 Metro Women
  • U15 Country Men
  • U15 Country Women

COUNTRY CUP
What: U14 Country Tournament
Where: Albury-Wodonga
When: 13-18 Jan 2014
Teams:

  • U14 Country Men
  • U14 Country Women


U14 & U15 DEVELOPMENT TOUR TRIAL DATES

When: Saturday, 12 October 2013 - 12pm to 5pm
& Sunday, 13 October 2013 - 9am to 12:30pm

Where: WA Basketball Centre, Floreat

Cost: $50 / person

Who: All players welcome (Boys & Girls) born 2000 and 2001.

Player registrations for the 2014 trials are now available and must be completed online. To register for the trials click here.

Registrations close Friday, 11 October at 12 noon.

COACHES AND OFFICIALS

Expressions of interest for coaches and managers to attend the 2014 Australian Junior Country Cup (Albury) and the Southern Cross Challenge (Melbourne) are being sought.

Those interested in applying are encouraged to fill out an application form and submit it by Friday, 30 August 2013 following the instructions at the bottom of the form.
