Kickz101 Perth SBL Grand Finals - THIS WEEKEND

The 2013 Kickz101 Perth State Basketball League Grand Finals are set to hit the WA Basketball Centre this weekend with two blockbuster games this Friday and Saturday.

After two weekends of Semi-Final action, the best of three series winners have been determined and will battle it out to be crowned champions in a one off game.

The Women's game will be contested between the third placed Wanneroo Wolves and the fifth placed Kalamunda Eastern Suns. The Wolves have beaten Stirling in the quarter finals and Rockingham in the Semi-Finals to earn a spot in their first WSBL Grand Final since 1997. Kalamunda defeated Lakeside in the quarter finals and last years champions South West in the Semi-Finals to book their clubs first ever Grand Final appearance.

The Men's game will see the first placed Lakeside Lightning and the sixth placed Australian Belt Scrapers Wanneroo Wolves do battle. The Lightning have taken down Perth and East Perth on their way to their seventh Grand Final, while the Wolves have taken down Geraldton and Perry Lakes to earn a spot in their second Grand Final in three years.

There will be plenty of significance in these games with Sue Williams equalling the All-Time Games Played record currently held by Troy Clarke (512 games). In the Men's competition Lakeside Head Coach Andy Stewart and Wanneroo veteran Damian Matacz will both coach and play their last SBL games having announced their respective retirements.
