Waves captain Melissa Marsh announces retirement

This Saturday night Waves co-captain Melissa Marsh will play her last WNBL home game at the WABC.

The Alcohol. Think Again West Coast Waves guard is in her 14th season in the WNBL, starting back in 2000/01 with the Perth Lynx.

Marsh will finish the season on 266 games, with 243 of those games representing her home state after a brief stint in Adelaide in 2005/06.

The Willetton Tigers junior and SBL star has been the face of the Waves over her career and has stayed loyal to the club over her career.

Over her 263 games to date Marsh averages 9.0 points, 2.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.

While success on court in the WNBL has eluded Marsh and the Waves, in the SBL Marsh has played 235 games and won four SBL Championships with the Willetton Tigers and has also represented WA in under-age Nationals.

Basketball WA and the Waves are calling on the WA basketball community to come out in force to show your support for Marsh and the Waves in the last home game of the season.
