Three wins in a row now with this one being a real close contest. The game was a nail biter from start to finish with the lead swapping more times than you would like to count throughout the game. In this match a lot of our shots weren’t finding the target and the girls played a lazy defense for most of the game.

Although being down after the second and third quarter and going into the last, four points down, the girls fought back, and in the last five minutes scored some quick baskets and were able to contain Lakesides attacking front line.

Overall a fantastic result and well done girls

This week we went into the game with just the seven players as Amos, Honey and Walsh were all absent which left our guard rotation light on but on the other hand the boys could go out there with the freedom knowing they were going to play plenty regardless of performance.

A see sawing game from start to finish with our boys leading by one at quarter time, down six at the half, up three at the last change before the final stanza saw both teams go basket for basket. In the end the Lightning hit a back breaking three which deflated our guys with just over 30 seconds remaining and we werent able to return the favour.

The rewarding sign was that our guys were able to execute offensively probably the best we have in over a couple of months so as we near the playoffs its about fine tuning some of our rotations on the defensive end as we gave up some cheap baskets which ultimately proved costly in order to give ourselves the best chance in three weeks time.

Well done to Jarrod McCarthy who had his best game for the team and while Beau Samuelson did what he does, Dylan Jeffrey was again outstanding at both ends of the floor with the bonus of getting some valuable game time outside the perimeter.
