Same again, good in patches and not so in others. To rectify this we need to prepare ourselves for training and to train with more intent.

Although we didn’t land a win, it is a credit to the girls the way they applied themselves to this game and the intensity that they maintained throughout the match. In the first half we saw some of the best basketball the Flames have ever played with their defence line difficult to penetrate and that real hunger to take possession of the ball.

Where Willeton normally dominate, the Flames didn’t give them much room but unfortunately towards the end of the last quarter we started to run out of puff which saw the score line get away from us.

The girls have come so far from the beginning of this season developing not only as individuals but as a team and this game certainly proved that.

This season we have been in the hunt in all bar two games with this week being one of those. With a playoff berth booked the boys showed a lack of effort which is very concerning two weeks out from an elimination final against Bunbury.

Our preperation was far from ideal with only seven guys able to train and the Tigers who wont feature in the finals this year clearly outplayed us from start to finish and deserved their 20 point win while we had a couple of guys who battled constantly for the 40 minutes.

This week against Perry Lakes will be a chance for redemption and to build some momentum heading into a tough finals campaign as we need all 10 guys to be on the same page and clicking.

Robbie Whites farewell game before he departs for Germany was to be a memorable one. The guys paid him an honest farewell with a remarkable performance against the Tigers on their home court.

With Ryan Galambosi back in the lineup, we had a full squad for the first time in well over two months. From the tip the Flames took control of the game as we built a commanding lead and never looked back. At one point we stretched the lead out to 40 points in what can only be described as our best game all season.

Robbie hit the final three pointer to give himself 11 points for the game, and our first 100 point game for the season. The best for the home side was Ben Milton who recorded a 43 point game.

Robbie White leaves us this season averaging 7.3 points, with a season high 15 against East Perth. As we head into the finals his spot will be hard to fill as Robbie has become a tough defender and one of my go-to guys on offense.
