Player of the Month - March 2011

The winner of the Stingrays Player of the Month for March 2011 is Under 14 Girls player Ebony Smith. Ebony is in her first year in the program, learning under Joel Anderson. Ebony represents the South Geelong Kings in the CBBA Super 14 Girls competition.

The Player of the Month award is nominated by each team's Head Coach and selected by the Stingrays Directors of Coaching. The award seeks to recognise players who demonstrate the attributes held highest by the Stingrays.
"Ebony has had to play a large number of minutes each week throughout pre-grading and the first round of VJBL, even though she has been carrying a foot injury" Coach Joel Anderson said. "Her dedication to the team to run and run all game, whilst never missing a rebound has showed great character and I think it is only a sign of great things to come. The girls are very glad to have Ebony, if not just to have her help on defence, you can always count on her screaming out some lyrics on the way to and from an away game."
The Corio Bay Stingrays would like to congratulate Ebony on this award and look forward to watching her continue to excel as the season progresses.
