YMBA Grading & Change of Teams up to Week 3 Policy

YMBA GRADING POLICY & CHANGE OF TEAMS UP TO WEEK 3 POLICY

TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. YMBA reserves the right to grade players within the YMBA grading system.

Players registered in the YMBA Junior season may be graded into a certain Grade ( eg. A Grade, A Reserve, B Grade, U10, U12, etc), not necessarily a specific age group, according to their ability. This is to enable players to develop and enjoy the game in a group that is at their level and that they are comfortable with. A player may therefore be graded in a Grade above, or below, their typical age group according to YMBA's Grading process, if this is in the best interest of the childs basketball development.

2. As part of the Grading Policy, YMBA reserves the right to alter teams up to, and including, the 3rd week of play in each season.

Full co-operation of coaches, parents and children involved is expected. This decision is made for the fairness of all the children playing and will occur if there are gross differences in team playing abilities.

In ticking the box on the PlayHQ registration form, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge that these Codes of Conducts are part of the YMBA conditions of play.

INFORMATION:

Players and coaches will be notified of these changes, if they are going to occur. Our age group managers do an amazing job and we hope that you can join us in supporting and appreciating their efforts, as all decisions are made in the best interest of the competition and it is not a personal issue with your child.

HOW CAN YOU HELP??

  • Talk with encouraging words to your child about the change
  • Explain that it is isn't about the child themselves, but about having teams that enjoy a healthy competitive game with each other  (ie. one team isn't thrashing another)
  • Be supportive of the decision and encourage your child that they will settle easily and well into their new team
  • Help build resilience with your child, as life is all about embracing change, moving forward and making new friends.

Please be reminded that this has always been the policy of YMBA. We try and do our best at the start of the season with the teams, but sometimes changes need to be made once the teams have played a few games, to ensure a fair and even competition.

We understand that some players may feel like they want to stay in a team, but we have certainly found in the past that once the change is made, the players do settle quickly and it in the best interest for all teams for the remainder of the competition.

We hope that all parents can appreciate the time and effort that goes into co-ordinating these teams by VOLUNTEERS and hope that parents are supportive of such decisions, knowing that there has been a lot of thought put into it and that there is a justifiable reason behind it.

Thankyou.
